Yard Storage Terms & Conditions

Secure outdoor storage bays for caravans, boats and trailers — purpose-built for Townsville conditions.

Site: Townsville, QLD
Bay size: 20 ft outdoor bays
Accepted: Caravans · Boats · Trailers
About this agreement. These Yard Storage Terms & Conditions ("Terms") set out the arrangement between Quantum Logistics ("Quantum Logistics", "the Yard", "we" or "us") and the person or entity booking a storage bay ("you" or "the Customer") at our Townsville outdoor storage yard. By booking a bay, signing a Booking Form, or leaving a caravan, boat or trailer at the Yard, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms in full. A separate Booking & Acknowledgement Form is used to record your details, item information and signature.
1

What We Store — and What We Don't

Quantum Logistics operates a single class of storage bay: a 20 ft (approx. 6.1m) open-air, uncovered outdoor bay. We do not operate covered sheds, indoor units, or container storage at this site. Our bays are marked out specifically for the following item types only:

Caravans & campervans
Boats & personal watercraft on trailers
Box, cage & utility trailers

Motor vehicles that are not towing a registered trailer, machinery, plant equipment, shipping containers, household goods, boxed items, or anything not listed above will not be accepted onto the Yard, and Quantum Logistics may refuse entry or require immediate removal of any item that falls outside this description.

Booking Your Bay

A Bay is only reserved for you once we have received your completed Booking & Acknowledgement Form, your first Plan Fee payment, and (where applicable) your Bond. Bays are allocated by Quantum Logistics at its discretion; we cannot guarantee a specific Bay number for the life of your storage, and clause 8 explains when and how we may reallocate you.

Minimum term: your first period of storage runs for a minimum of 4 weeks from your move-in date. After the minimum term, storage continues on a rolling fortnightly basis until either party ends it under clause 11.

You confirm, by booking, that you are either the legal owner of the Item or hold written authority from the owner to store it and to enter into these Terms on the owner's behalf.

Fees & Payment

ChargeWhen it applies
Plan FeeCharged in advance one month at a time, on your billing date each cycle
BondOne-off amount collected at sign-up; held for the duration of your storage and applied under clause 10
Late Payment ChargeApplied if a Plan Fee is not received within 5 days of its due date
Site Access Card ReplacementCharged if your access card, fob or gate code device is lost and needs replacing
Yard Assist FeeCharged only where you request Quantum Logistics staff to reposition your Item using yard equipment

All charges are in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. We accept direct debit, card payment, or bank transfer using the reference supplied to you — payments that cannot be matched to your account may be treated as unpaid until identified.

Quantum Logistics may adjust the Plan Fee for a new billing cycle by giving you at least 21 days' written notice. If you do not want to accept the new rate, you may end your storage by giving us 48 hours' notice before the increase takes effect, instead of the notice period set out in clause 11.

Your Responsibilities While Storing With Us

  1. Keep your Item within the boundary lines of your allocated Bay — overhang or encroachment into a neighbouring Bay or the internal roadway is not permitted.
  2. Ensure your Item is roadworthy enough to be moved, and fitted with a functioning handbrake, jockey wheel and coupling if it is a towed Item.
  3. Keep your Item's registration current where legally required, or clearly display an unregistered vehicle permit if applicable under Queensland law.
  4. No personal vehicle access to the compound — the Yard is walk-in access only. Only Quantum Logistics staff move Items in or out of a Bay; you are not permitted to drive into the compound yourself.
  5. Arrange pickups and drop-offs in advance: a minimum of 12 hours' notice is required for a pickup, and drop-off times must also be confirmed with us beforehand, preferably within business hours.
  6. Comply with the coded personnel gate and any alarm procedures in place at the Yard, and do not share your access code with anyone who is not an authorised user of your Bay.
  7. Notify us within 3 business days of any change to your phone number, email, postal address, or Nominated Contact.
  8. Not sub-let, share or transfer your Bay to any other person without our prior written consent.
  9. Secure your own Item (wheel clamp, hitch lock, or similar) — Quantum Logistics does not lock individual Items and is not responsible for locking devices you choose to use.
  10. Remove all gas bottles, or ensure any gas system fitted to your caravan is isolated at the cylinder, before storing.
  11. Solar panels and onboard electrical items: if your Item is fitted with solar panels, they must be disconnected or covered while in storage. Refrigerators, freezers and any other powered electrical appliances must be switched off and must not be left running during the storage period — the Yard does not provide mains power to Bays and running appliances on battery or solar power while unattended is not permitted.

Items and Conditions We Don't Allow

Because this is an open, shared outdoor Yard, you must not store or bring onto site:

  • Anything other than a caravan, campervan, boat-and-trailer combination, or empty trailer as described in clause 1;
  • Any Item leaking fuel, oil or other fluids, or in a condition likely to attract vermin, mould or contamination;
  • Loose fuel, gas cylinders that are not properly isolated, batteries removed from their housing, or other hazardous, dangerous, illegal, stolen, biohazardous or explosive materials, firearms or weapons;
  • Perishable food, livestock, or anything living;
  • Any Item that is unregistered where registration is legally required and no permit is displayed, or otherwise being stored in breach of Queensland law; and
  • Cash, jewellery, documents or other small valuables left loose inside the Item — see clause 6 regarding contents risk.
Site rule: because bays are outdoors and unfenced from each other, Quantum Logistics reserves the right to inspect the exterior of any Item from the roadway at any time without notice, to confirm compliance with this clause.
6

Risk, Weather Exposure & Insurance

Because all Bays are uncovered and outdoors, your Item is exposed to sun, rain, wind, salt air, dust and general Townsville weather conditions for the entire storage period. You accept this exposure as a feature of outdoor storage.

Subject to any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, your Item (and everything in or on it) is stored entirely at your own risk. Quantum Logistics is not a bailee of your Item and does not take possession or control of it while it remains in your Bay under normal storage conditions. Quantum Logistics will not be liable for loss or damage to any Item or goods stored on or in front of its premises.

Your Item must be insured by you at all times for the full storage period, including cover for weather damage, theft and third-party impact. Quantum Logistics holds its own public liability insurance, which covers our operations — not your Item.

Where Quantum Logistics is found liable to you despite the above, that liability is capped at the total Plan Fees paid by you in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

7

Yard Access

Walk-in access to your Bay is available during Yard Hours only, through the coded personnel gate — there is no vehicle access into the compound, and only staff move Items in or out. Yard Hours are posted at the entry point and may be updated by us with reasonable notice.

We may temporarily restrict access to all or part of the Yard for mowing, resurfacing, fence repairs, or during a Severe Weather Event, without it being a breach of these Terms, provided we restore access as soon as reasonably practicable.

If your account has an outstanding Late Payment Charge or overdue Plan Fee, we may suspend your access until the amount owing is cleared. We are not liable for any inconvenience caused by a suspension made under this clause.

8

Moving or Reallocating Your Bay

From time to time we may need to reorganise the Yard — for example to regrade the ground, respond to drainage issues, or make better use of space. If this affects your Bay, we will give you at least 7 days' notice and relocate you to another bay of a comparable or larger size at no extra cost. Where relocation is urgent (for example, ahead of a Severe Weather Event), we may move your Item with less notice, and will tell you as soon as practicable afterwards.

9

Cyclones, Flooding & Severe Weather

Townsville is subject to seasonal cyclone and monsoon risk. In the event of a declared Severe Weather Event, Quantum Logistics may, acting reasonably:

  1. Direct you to attend the Yard within a specified window to secure or remove your Item;
  2. Reposition Items within the Yard to reduce wind or flood exposure, without needing your prior consent;
  3. Temporarily close the Yard to all access until authorities confirm it is safe; and
  4. Suspend Plan Fee billing for any period the Yard is fully closed under this clause.

Quantum Logistics will not be responsible for damage arising directly from a Severe Weather Event, except to the extent caused by our own negligence in how we prepared or managed the Yard in response to it.

10

If Fees Fall Behind

If a Plan Fee remains unpaid 14 days after its due date, we will send you a written default notice giving you a further 10 days to bring your account up to date. If payment is still not received:

  1. We may apply your Bond towards the amount owing;
  2. We may restrict Yard access to your Bay until the account is cleared;
  3. We may register and rely on a lien over your Item for the amount owing, in accordance with Queensland law; and
  4. If the debt remains unpaid 90 days after the original due date, we may remove the Item from the Yard and deliver it to your last known home address on file, or otherwise dispose of it after giving the notice required by law. Any towing, removal and outstanding balance costs will be invoiced to you for immediate payment.

We will always try to contact you and your Nominated Contact by phone, email and SMS before taking any action under this clause.

11

Ending Your Storage

After your minimum term, you may end your storage by giving us 14 days' written notice by email. We may end your storage by giving you the same notice, or immediately where you have seriously or repeatedly breached these Terms (for example, storing a prohibited item under clause 5, or non-payment as described in clause 10). The Plan Fee continues to apply until your Item is permanently removed from the Yard.

You must remove your Item from the Yard by the end of your notice period. Any Item left beyond 7 days after your storage ends will be treated as abandoned, and Quantum Logistics may remove, store elsewhere at your cost, or dispose of it after giving the notice required by law.

Your Bond (less any amounts properly deducted under these Terms) will be returned to you within 14 days of your Item being removed and the Bay left clear and free of debris.

12

Your Privacy

Quantum Logistics collects your contact and payment details to manage your Bay, process payments, and contact you (or your Nominated Contact) about your storage. We do not sell your information to third parties. We may share your details with payment processors, debt collection agencies (only where your account is significantly overdue), or government and law enforcement bodies where legally required. You may request access to, or correction of, the information we hold about you at any time by contacting us.

13

General

  • Site rules: any additional yard rules displayed at the entrance or issued to you in writing form part of these Terms.
  • No waiver: if we don't enforce a term on one occasion, that doesn't stop us enforcing it later.
  • Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • Whole agreement: these Terms, together with your Booking & Acknowledgement Form, are the entire agreement between you and Quantum Logistics and replace any earlier discussions or promises.
  • Governing law: these Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, and both parties submit to the jurisdiction of its courts.
  • Updates: we may update these Terms from time to time; the current version is always available on request.
